Hidden Rainbow Nails!

In case you didn't know, rainbow colors are very popular right now. So I took advantage of this and tried out a design I found online. It's super cute, and has rainbows in it! Here's what you'll need:

  • 5 bright colors
  • a black colored nail polish
  • some semi-sticky tape
  • a top coat
Step 1: Applying The Rainbow
Using a thin portion of the brush, apply a small vertical stripe of color to one section of you nail
Do this again, but with a different color next to the first stripe once the one before has dried
Once you have a stripe of each color, wait until everything is dry before moving to the next step

Step 2: Hiding the Rainbow
Once your nails are totally dry, cut a strip of tape the size you want the rainbow to be
Carefully stick the tape horizontally across your nail in the spot you'd like the rainbow to be
Press firmly on the tape so it will stick
Once the tape is well secured, open up a bottle of black nail polish
Paint over the tape and the rest of the nail, making sure not to get any under the tape

Step 3: Finding the Rainbow
Once the black nail polish has dried almost completely, peel off the tape in one motion
Wait about 5 minutes or so, then apply a topcoat to seal the rainbow in
Enjoy!

Magnetic Nail Polish

Hello! Today I will be talking about magnetic nail polish, a new craze that looks pretty awesome. I've used the nails inc. one, and so far have had good success! While it doesn't last very long and chips around the edges, if you use it correctly you come out with almost professional-looking nails every time. To get a cool magnetic effect, you first apply a coat of the polish to each nail. Once it dries (fairly quickly!), you apply a second coat to the nail you want to do first. Immediately after, you hold the magnet (attached to the outer cap on this one) over the wet nail for 10 seconds. Nails should be dry before moving on to the next nail. It's pretty cool! I have no idea what makes it work, but whatever it is works well! It's a little pricey at $16 a bottle, but definitely worth it! I rate it a 5/5!

Nail Polish Review: Sally Hansen Gem Crush

Today I was out shopping in Target and came across Gem Crush by Sally Hansen. I'd heard of this before but didn't think much of it. It looks like any other sparkly polish, so I almost walked right by it. Until I saw an ad with the words full coverage on it. I thought, "No way! Sparkly nail polish needs like 7 coats to fully cover your nails!", so I bought it in #6 Razzle Dazzler. The color is very similar to OPI's Teenage Dream, but while it took me 5 coats to fully cover my nail with Teenage Dream, it took me 2 coats with Razzle Dazzler. It is a very subtle pink with sparkles all over. This is one of my favorite shades and I rate it a 5/5!
